In this class, we'll discuss these difference services how to use them, tips on being hip on them (knowing the shorthand) and how to stay safe on them.

MOVIE: MODERN TIMES with Charley Chaplin

This comedic masterpiece finds the iconic Little Tramp (Charlie Chaplin) employed at a state-of-the-art factory where the inescapable machinery completely overwhelms him, and where various mishaps keep getting him sent to prison. In between his various jail stints, he meets and befriends an orphan girl (Paulette Goddard). Both together and apart, they try to contend with the difficulties of modern life, with the Tramp working as a waiter and eventually a performer. Diabetes My Plate, 10:30 am – 11:30 am
It has been proven that managing blood sugar is the key to living well with diabetes and eating well is the key to managing blood sugar. Join us in this lesson to learn more about healthy eating with diabetes.
 
Carbohydrates Counting, 12 pm – 1 pm
Controlling the amount of carbohydrates consumed each meal helps in managing blood sugar. Join us to know more about different types of carbohydrates and how many carbs you should eat.
 
Healthy snacks, 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm
Who doesn’t like to have some snacks between meals? But with diabetes, making smart snack choices is the solution for enjoying your snack while still managing your blood sugar.
 
Being Active With Diabetes, 3 pm – 4 pm
Healthy eating and exercise work together for better management of diabetes.

The deck behind Connects is calling out. Come join us there for some fun board games with your peers. We have several game options, or bring your own. Should be a lot of fun catching up with peers as we play the games. And we'll be outside.

PUZZLE PASSION with Yifan Xue

Puzzles are good for the brain. Studies have shown that doing jigsaw puzzles can improve cognition and visual-spatial reasoning. The act of putting the pieces of a puzzle together requires concentration and improves short-term memory and problem solving. You can work on a puzzle by yourself or you can team with other participants to finish the puzzle. You can also bring your own puzzle here.

MEDITATION & BREATHING with Yifan Xue

Studies show that meditation as well as breathing exercises can improve physical and mental health. Meditation and breathing exercises don’t have to take a lot of time out of your day. Yifan will teach you several techniques and you will practice together in the group. After each exercise, you will review and discuss your feelings.
